Jodi Ann Fischer, OT, CWCE, CLCP

Ms. Fischer is a Consultant Occupational Therapist and Director of Functional Outcomes Rehabilitation Services Inc. Her areas of expertise include Functional/Work Capacity Evaluation, Life Care Planning Evaluation (a.k.a Cost of Future Care Evaluation), and Medical-Legal Critique.

Ms. Fischer graduated from Queen's University Rehabilitation Medicine (Occupational Therapy) program. She holds a post-graduate diploma in Functional Capacity Evaluation through the University of Florida. She is certified as an Advanced Work Capacity Evaluator through Roy Matheson and Associates (RMA), having successfully completed the residency program, re-certification, advanced training, and clinical review panel standards. She is a Certified Evaluator for the E.P.I.C. Lift Capacity Evaluation. She is also a Certified Life Care Planner (Cost of Future Care) through the Commission on Health Care Certification.

She has worked in a variety of settings performing functional assessment and treatment including various private practices that provide work-related rehabilitation services, Work Safe BC, and a number of different hospital areas (orthopaedics, neurology, psychiatry, acute care, and geriatric/long term care).

Along with her clinical work, she has lectured to a broad range of health professionals on the topics of job site assessment, work/functional capacity evaluation, return to work programming, and life care planning. She is currently a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. She developed and teaches the course on Life Care Planning to students in the Master of Occupational Therapy Program. She has also served as an Advisor for UBC Occupational Therapy Admission’s Panel on multiple occasions. She currently teaches Life Care Planning for clinicians throughout North America with Roy Matheson and Associates. She has published in the Journal of Life Care Planning on a variety of topics including objective functional testing, determination of household service requirements, and life care planning methodologies.

Ms. Fischer is a qualified expert witness to the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Functional / Work Capacity Evaluation, Cost of Future Care Evaluation, Job Site Analysis, and Occupational Therapy.
